Blog Review: Kendi Everyday

www.KendiEveryday.com

Kendi Everyday is a blog with one clear purpose, seeing what Kendi Skeen wears everyday. What makes the blog successful is how the reader can relate to the writer, or more appropriately the model as the blog is mostly photograph based. All of Skeen’s text is very casual, and very short.

While the outfits Skeen posts are fashion forward, they are also outfits the average woman would wear.  Her blog draws the attention of fifteen thousand followers for her unique takes on fashion, the blog also draws the attention because of a variety of other very intentional page style.

Something that makes Skeen’s site different than many fashion blogs is that she links anything she wears up to the store that you can buy it at. It allows the reader the ability to create every outfit she posts. This makes Skeen’s site a resource to readers, as well as an inspiration board they can come to and get ideas.

Though Skeen makes it sound like her style is for the regular woman, she tends to wear and advertise for high-end brands. The brands are not necessarily affordable for all of her readers, especially the poor college students.

The second thing she has that sets her blog apart from others is her particular style of photograph. Skeen and her husband stop everyday in various places to take photographs of her outfits, but the photos set her blog apart. The picture Skeen’s husband is a professional photographer and the pictures have perfect lighting, high quality, and an artistic touch.

Skeen keeps her blog sleek and updated consistently. She updates her outfit posts almost daily, but she also updates the graphics and design consistently also. Since the blog is fashion driven, as the style of clothes change between seasons and as the years pass, the blog changes as well.
